A pre-nuptial agreement is an agreement made by the couple before they marry concerning the ownership of their respective assets should the marriage fail.
A post-nuptial agreement is a written agreement executed after a couple gets married, or have entered a civil union, to settle the couple’s affairs and assets in the event of a separation or divorce. It is similar to a pre-nuptial Agreement except this is executed after the marriage has taken place.
